| Spotlight on West Linn |
|
Money Magazine ranks West Linn among
the most livable communities in the entire nation and for good reason.
Located 15 miles south of Portland’s city center and hugging
the west side of the Willamette River; it is just 20 minutes from
Portland International Airport. Access to Portland is via Highway
43 (Willamette Drive) and Interstate 205.
Nicknamed the “City of Hills,
Trees and Rivers,” West Linn could be called a city of neighborhoods.
West Linn real estate ranges from the historic Willamette district
with its pioneer-era dwellings to the contemporary architecture of
newer luxury homes situated in gated neighborhoods to elegant homes
on large properties with acreage. Some of Oregon’s best real
estate lies among the city’s Douglas firs, offering panoramic
views of the Willamette and Tualatin’s rivers, Mt. Hood, Mt.
Adams, Mt. St. Helen and the Cascade range backdrop.
While West Linn is primarily a residential
community, several shopping areas convenient to all residents enhance
livability. Restaurants, bakeries, banks, gourmet grocery stores,
libraries and more are within a few minutes reach.
The city’s residents are among the best educated in Oregon, and
earn incomes well above the state’s average, making West Linn
a center for many luxury homes and high quality real estate.
A large number of residents chose West
Linn properties to build their luxury home because of the West Linn – Wilsonville
School District’s dedication to outstanding education. West
Linn students achieve high levels of knowledge, skill and understanding
through meaningful inquiry in all disciplines by engaging in research,
in the study of significant ideas and developing skills for thought
and action in the world. The district services approximately 5,000
students and includes five elementary schools, two middle schools
and one high school.
Among its special assets are West Linn
Oregon’s dedicated parks and open spaces. The city boasts 21
parks including neighborhood, nature, community and waterfront parks
providing access to the Willamette River.
